Share between devices
In Settings, choose the same AdrIan Transcribe folder in iCloud Drive on iPhone and Mac.

Watch recordings
Keep the paired iPhone nearby. Record on Apple Watch, then the recording transfers to the iPhone for transcription.
If a job appears stuck
- Check that the iPhone or Mac has an internet connection.
- Confirm the OpenAI API account is active and has available credit.
- Use Cancel, then retry. Completed parts are kept locally, so a long recording resumes instead of starting again.
Important transcripts should always be checked against the original recording before they are used as formal records.

1. Information the app handles
The native apps and web app handle recordings you create or import, transcript text returned by OpenAI, your selected language and transcript options, and the OpenAI API key you provide. Recordings can contain any information captured by the microphone, including personal or sensitive information.
2. How transcription works
In the native apps, selected audio is sent directly from your device to the OpenAI Audio Transcriptions API using your own API key. In the web app, the recording and key pass temporarily through the website's secure relay to OpenAI because browsers cannot safely make this request directly. The relay does not save the recording, key or result. If you choose Optimize here, the transcript text is sent to OpenAI's Responses API for cleaning, organization and a summary. The app does not send files to a server operated by the developer in the native apps and is only relayed in the web app.
3. OpenAI processing and retention
OpenAI processes the audio and transcript text as an independent service provider under the terms and settings of your OpenAI API account. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train models unless the account holder opts in. Its current data controls state that the Audio Transcriptions endpoint has no application-state or abuse-monitoring retention, while content sent to other endpoints may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless different controls apply to the account. Review the current OpenAI policy before sending sensitive material.
OpenAI API data controls4. Storage on Apple devices
In the native apps, your API key is stored in Apple Keychain. Recordings and transcripts are stored inside the app or in a folder you select in iCloud Drive. When iCloud Drive is selected, Apple syncs the files under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy terms. In the web app, the API key remains only in the current page's memory and disappears when the page closes. Web transcripts are saved locally in that browser until you delete them or clear browser data.
Apple iCloud privacy information5. Tracking, advertising and analytics
The app contains no advertising network, cross-app tracking or analytics SDK. The developer does not receive your native-app recordings, transcripts, API key or usage history. The web relay processes a transcription request in transit but does not retain its contents.
6. Your choices and deletion
You control which recordings are submitted. You can cancel a job, remove the API key from Settings, and delete recordings or transcripts from the Files app, iCloud Drive or Finder. Deleting the app removes files kept only in its private local storage. Files in iCloud Drive must be deleted separately.
7. Recording other people
You are responsible for obtaining consent and following the recording, confidentiality and data-protection rules that apply where you live and work. Do not submit material you are not authorized to process.
8. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when app features or service providers change. The effective date above will change when a material update is published. Support and privacy enquiries can be made using the developer contact shown with the app's App Store listing.
